I first met Lori when she was very young-in fact, I think she was 5 days old when Mom and Dad brought her home from the hospital.  We grew up as a family of six children with Mom and Dad in the Elmwood neighborhood of Winnipeg.  Lori’s older sisters, Judy and Karen and their husbands continue to live in Winnipeg with their families including a combined 5 children and 13 (last count) grandchildren; brother Matt lives in Calgary with his wife and two daughters; younger sister Lisa lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband and two daughters; and I live in British Columbia with my wife and four children and three grandchildren.   Mom passed away a number of years ago but Dad is going strong with a new “bionic knee” and still is golfing up a storm in Winnipeg at 88 years young.

As Lori’s very large and close extended family, we all have shed many tears and said many prayers for Lori, Dave, Alison and Scott over the past nine months, but we also know firsthand of Lori’s  inner strength, determination and will (ok-some would call it “stubbornness!) that we know will drive her journey of rehabilitation.

Oh, by the way, as a Trustee, my background is mainly in business.  I have a Business Degree (Commerce) from the University of Manitoba and have spent most of the last 30 years in senior executive/management positions within the gaming and hospitality industry in Western Canada, both within Government Crown Corporations and private sector companies.
Life is a journey with many twists and turns that are impossible to predict. Find out what you can do.
